We Are At A Crossroads

On Wednesday, I was praying while driving to Memphis and I sensed The Lord impressing upon me that the Evangelical church had less than 6 months to articulate a Biblical view on immigrants in the current context before the dialogue was poisoned from a partisan perspective in the general election. I kept sensing "6 months" of an open window for the church to step up and lead Biblically before things become set in a dangerous Left/Right divide. Then today, I see this:
"It’s no exaggeration to say that the next six months will determine the viability of the Republican Party. The demographics of this country are changing. This will be the last presidential election cycle in which the G.O.P., in its current form, has even a shot at winning the White House. And so the large question Republicans must ask themselves is: Are we as a party willing to champion the new America that is inexorably rising around us, or are we the receding roar of an old America that is never coming back?"

I (Alan) think that the church is at a crossroads as well. Will we see the opportunity that God has put in front of us to value people made in God's image and needing the Gospel, or will we shrink back in fear and self protection? The time is now to ‪#‎tellabetterstory‬. God is working. Game on. America is changing forever and it is along these lines. Christians can speak into this and reclaim the narrative or we can miss the moment - again. I say that we step in and seize the day.
