Dear Mr. Governor...

This was written to Governor Bentley of Alabama by a little boy in our church at Gateway. His name is Elijah and he is 7. His mother wrote me and said that they were talking about the Syrian refugees and he said to her, "mommy they should come here!" She told him the governor said they can't. He said:

Oh we need to go talk to the governor, these children don’t have anywhere to go. We need to talk to the President! Papa can talk to him! He’s been to D.C!

Sometimes little children can see more clearly than we think. Maybe this is why Jesus said that they were closer to the Kingdom of God and that we had to become like them. Of course, bringing the refugees here is not the whole story and we have to work through the security concerns, but Elijah's heart must surely be a component of how we must look at this situation.
